Product update — June 29, 2026
Folders, an early-access API, and sharper change detection
A large release covering about six weeks of work. The headline is folders, a way to organise monitors once you have more than a handful, alongside meaningful improvements to how accurately and reliably we detect change.
New
Folders
Group your monitors into folders and act on them together. Each folder supports bulk actions, run, pause, resume, archive and move, and you can assign a folder when creating, editing or importing a monitor. Notifications can be filtered by folder too, so you can keep an eye on one area of your monitoring without wading through everything else.
This is the first version. Folders are currently flat and shared with everyone in your workspace; private folders and sharing controls are planned for a later release.
Public API and personal access tokens, early access
The first slice of our REST API is available. Generate a personal access token and call a small set of endpoints covering your account, workspaces, and viewing or creating a monitor, with published rate limits, versioning and hosted documentation. The surface is intentionally small to start with and will grow.
AI assistant integration, early access
Connect an AI assistant such as Claude to ChangeTower and ask it, in plain language, to list your monitors, pull up change notifications within a date range, or show your workspaces. Read-only, and scoped to your own data.
Improved
Fewer duplicate and false alerts
Our crawler now strips marketing tracking parameters such as utm_, fbclid and gclid from URLs. Tagged variants of the same page no longer create duplicate snapshots or the noisy alerts that came with them. This applies automatically to your existing monitors; there is nothing to turn on.
More complete, more reliable crawls
Crawls are considerably more resilient under load, so a large scan captures every page it is meant to, and a run that hits trouble reports that honestly rather than finishing quietly.
We respect robots.txt
ChangeTower now honours robots.txt when crawling, which matters if your legal or compliance team asks how we behave on third-party sites.
A gentler limit in the import flow
Importing more monitors than your plan allows no longer stops you at a wall. You will see what is happening and can upgrade inline and carry on. The same applies when resuming monitors in bulk.
Fixed
- Sign-in errors now appear as a friendly message rather than a full-page error screen.
- The plan change banner now clears correctly once your new subscription starts.
- Fixed a sign-in reliability issue in the Chrome extension.
- Visitors on mobile now see a note that ChangeTower is best used on desktop.
- Google Ads tracking has been removed from the application.
